Expolanka Annual Report wins Gold Award and Ranked among the Top 100 at LACP, USA


Nov 05, 2013 (SLBO) - Expolanka Holdings PLC was awarded with the Gold Award for its “TAGGED” 2012/2013 Annual Report at the recently concluded Spotlight Awards Global Communications Competition by the League of American Communications Professional (LACP). The Global Communications Competition drew one of the largest number of submissions ever, representing a broad range of industries and organizational sizes. Approximately 1,500 entries were submitted, exemplifying a dozen of countries and 300 entities, making the competition exceptionally tough.

Commenting on the award, Paddy Weerasekera, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communications and CSR stated “we are elated to win this prestigious international award and also be ranked among the top 100 taking the 36th position of annual reports in the world. The concept of the annual report orchestrated the fact that in everything Expo does, may it be in Sri Lanka or the world over you can rest assure that it will be tagged with our guarantee of quality and excellence”.
The report was conceptualized and designed by Copyline (Pvt) Ltd and the production handled by Gunaratne Offset (Pvt) Ltd.

“This year’s entry for Expolanka Holdings PLC, “TAGGED”, proves to be remarkable in light of tremendous competition. Overall we find this work to be Outstanding, earning a total score of 98 out of a maximum 100 points. With this strong performance, “TAGGED” has been recognized with a Gold Award within its competition class” said Christine Kennedy, LACP Managing Director.

Through several hundred hours of judging, LACP identified winners within peer-level competition classes. Competition classes were established to create the most level playing field possible between entries. They were determined according to a proprietary judging system developed by LACP, which assigns point values to various criteria of an entry. A composite score, based on a 100-pont scale, was then determined by summing the results of all judging criteria.

“The first impression presented by this entry is exceptional while the narrative is outstanding. The visual design presented by “TAGGED” is exceptional, tied with a level of creativity that is superb. Our belief is that the target audience will find the level of relevance and clarity to be superb and exceptional, respectively, demonstrating the success of this project in connecting with the right people and delivering a highly applicable and persuasive message”, Kennedy added.

League of American Communications Professional (LACP) was established in 2001 in order to create a forum within the public relations industry that facilitates discussion of best-in-class practices within the profession while also recognizing those who demonstrate exemplary communications capabilities.
