ඇසළ 22, 2013 (SLBO) - කැනඩාවේ මිලියනයකටත් වඩා කියවන ජාතික පුවත්පතක් වෙන 'ග්ලෝබ් ඇන්ඩ් මේල්' විසින් මීට දින දෙකකට පෙර ලංකාවේ ගම්වලත් නගර වලත් එකසේ භාවිතා වෙන 'ඉදල' රුපියල් 2542.28 හෙවත් කැනේඩියානු ඩොලර් 19.99 කට කැනඩාවේ ප්‍රමුක ගෙතර දොර උවමනා අලෙවි වන වෙළඳසල් වල රට වටා අලෙවි වෙන බව කියවේ.

One of the traditional home and garden tools in Sri Lanka - 'Idala' or the Coconut Garden Broom' is now being sell for nearly Canadian $ 19.99 or over Sri Lankan Rupees 2500 at popular Garden Tools outlets in Canada.
Accordingly Canada's largest sold news daily 'Globe and Mail' says that
"It’s unclear whether Adam and Eve used it, but The Original Garden Broom ($19.99 at Rona, Home Hardware and Lee Valley Tools) sure works well in a you-know-what. Handmade in Sri Lanka."
It further higlights that the product is crafted from various parts of the coconut tree: Its dense, durable sweeper is made from the midrib of fallen branches, the coir that binds it is fashioned out of coconut husk and its smooth, distinctive cap is polished coconut shell. "Despite its tropical origins, the long-lasting, entirely eco-friendly tool is tough enough to use in Canada, staying firm and strong even when wet.
