International Day for Biological Diversity Day - Special event for Businesses
May 20, 2013 (SLBO) - The Sri Lanka Business and Biodiversity Platform, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Renewable Energy, is holding a public lecture to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity on 22nd of May, 2013. As this year's theme for the day is 'Water and Biodiversity', the lecture aims to demonstrate the importance of sustainable use of water resources to the benefit of business.
The lecture, titled "Making Business Sense: Capturing the benefits of water, ecosystems services and biodiversity" will be presented by Dr. Andrew Noble, Senior Fellow of the International Water Management Insitute (IWMI) and Interim Director for the Water, Land and Ecosystems CGIAR Research Programme led by IWMI. The presentation will be followed by an interactive discussion with the audience.
The event will commence at 5:45pm at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute (100, Independence Avenue, Colombo 7), with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Susil Premajayantha, Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy. All are welcome and entrance is free.
