Sacred Book of Five Hundred and Fifty Jataka Stories First Volume launched
Jan 09, 2013 (SLBO) - M. D. Gunasena the leading publisher, printer and bookseller, launched the "Sacred book of Five Hundred and Fifty Jataka Stories", a translation of the first 200 Jataka Stories at an event held in Queen's Hotel Kandy recently.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Tikiri Kobbekaduwa - Governor Central Province, Prof. Michael Fernando, Prof. K. N. O. Dharmadasa and Ananda Gunasena - Managing Director and Rajiv Gunasena - Deputy Managing Director - M. D. Gunasena.
Edited by Dr. Ranjani Obeysekera and translated by Prof. Tissa Kariyawasam, Prof. Udaya Meddegama, Prof. Piyaseeli Wijemanne, Prof. Ratna Hadurukanda, Vijitha Fernando, Anushya Kollure, Ajitha Dissanayake, Badra Rodrigo, Usula Wijesuriya, Sumangalika Dharmadasa and Chandrani Pamunuwa, the book is ideal for university students, and for those who wish to study Buddhism.
